Exchange message forwarding/redirection rules with Outlook 2007








You will need to have Microsoft Outlook 2007 installed on your local machine and have it configured to access your e-mail through an Exchange 2007 connection.

To create a forwarding rule to forward e-mail from your Exchange mailbox to an alternate address:

  1. Click Tools at the top of the main Outlook 2007 window.

  2. Click Rules and Alerts from the menu.

  3. Click the New Rule button.

  4. Click Check messages when they arrive.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Check the box for received in a specific date span.

    1. If you would not like to set a specific time span in which to forward/redirect messages, you may skip to Step 10.



  7. Click the blue underlined phrase "in a specific date span"

  8. Set the values for the dates that you would like your mail to be forwarded to an alternate e-mail account.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click Next.

  11. Check the box for forward it to people or distribution list.

    1. Alternatively, you may choose redirect it to people or distribution list if you do not wish to retain a copy of all the messages received during the set time span on the server.



  12. Click the blue underlined phrase "people or distribution list".

  13. Enter your alternate e-mail address in the To field.

  14. Click OK.

  15. Click Finish.
